Michelle Tai

Founder

Michelle was graduated in law in 1999. She worked in the legal field for 10 years. Driven by her passion in inner self development, Michelle decided to take on a new path of her career in yoga and meditation. For the past 9 years or so, she has participated in numbers of yoga training and strict silence retreats.

In 2007, she has taken a step further and has completed 200 hours Yoga teacher training (TTC) course under guidance of a Malaysian yogi, Vincent Tam. She soon realized that Yoga and Meditation in fact complement each other and yoga has taken her meditation practice into a deeper level.

In 2009, she left behind 10 years of work in the legal field to focus on her practice in yoga and meditation. She has completed a 30 hours pre-conception, pre-natal and post-natal teachers training course.

She has recently included pre-conception and pregnancy yoga classes in Journey Within Studio and is now a passionate teacher herself in that. Yogic scriptures reveal that there’s indefinitely more to us than body, personality and accumulated possession.

Meditation introduces us to that which is beyond them all. Michelle truly believes in that. She enjoys her works and she loves sharing her passion with others.

Shan Shan

Senior Teacher

Signing up a yoga class in a yoga studio near my place and getting more and more classes regular then finally took up a teacher training program. From then on, no turning back as I have ride on my yoga journey (aka my life journey too).

It used to be taking up yoga as a form of exercise and latest fashion in town. With a deeper understanding of human anatomy and how yoga can help in poor alignment and poor health, I am still benefiting from this basic knowledge up to today.

About 2 year later, I took up about Teacher TrainingProgram in 2011. I fell in love. I fell in love with the beautiful philosophies of yoga and the beautiful sutras supporting the yoga we practice today.

Learning and reading this sutras and how to embodied with my daily practice and Yoga has a bigger objective then stretching of body. I have been actively participating in yoga workshops, yoga retreats to upgrade myself every year as I believe learning is a life long journey. I work with individual from all walks of life. I am, with my little knowledge and effort sharing Yoga as a way
of living. Making peace with your body and work with your body to achieve a balance in body, mind and soul.

Sue San

Yoga Teacher

I have been introduced to yoga since year 2003 and became immediately smitten. In the time since, I have explored many traditions of yoga including Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga and Iyengar from many yoga teachers. Being also a ballet dancer I was able to relate better to yoga, integrating my movement with mind awareness. I realized yoga classes are physically demanding yet approachable for even the beginners. For this reason I chose to deepen my journey with yoga by enrolling in a teaching training certification program at Sun Yoga under the tutelage of Dr. Jacqueline Koay. I am now registered with Yoga Alliance at the 200-hour level and have excelled both in Human Body Anatomy and Yoga Philosophy.

My yoga classes are hence rooted in my knowledge of the anatomy, as well as my love of movement and yoga’s ability to bring awareness to body, mind and soul. One of my objectives as a yoga teacher is to help one discover one's poses from the inside rather than from the outside, focusing on the breath and slowing down in order to feel its effects on one's overall being. It will be deeply relaxing, joyful and fun.

I seek to constantly expand my understanding of the yoga tradition and share with others the benefits of flexibility, focus and both outer and inner strength that come with yoga practice.
Yoga is all about the journey within our inner self, discovering the imperfection in us and uncovering our divine/true nature within us.

She is an advocate of Gert Van Leeuwen’s Critical Alignment Therapy and the benefits of interconnecting yoga to meditation. She believes that applying knowledge from these areas is what makes the practice of yoga so much more holistic to one’s well-being.

Angeline Ng

Yoga Teacher

My first yoga experience was a prenatal yoga class 11 years ago when I was living abroad. Since then, I began experimenting with various classes but my nomadic lifestyle has made my yoga journey rather inconsistent until 2014.

I fell in love with yoga all over again when I attended my first Critical Alignment Yoga class. Suddenly everything made perfect sense to me through its mindful movement and intelligent sequencing and how I could apply this in my daily life. Yoga has taught me to be present and stop to take in a moment to breathe properly.

I am now a certified 200-hour Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher and am looking forward to getting my certification as a Certified Kids Yoga Teacher very soon. See you on the mat

Janine

Yoga Teacher

Janine first discovered Yoga in 2012 when she joined her mother spontaneously to attend a yoga class. She continued to dabble in yoga over the years, but focussed mainly on intensive workouts such as weight lifting and long-distance running. Nevertheless, the constant ‘fighting’ and pushing for more did not give her a sense of peace and connectedness.
In 2014, she dedicated effort to the practice of Yoga during a stage where she was contemplating a career change from the banking line. Yoga has taught her about Upekshanam (equanimity), the ability to accommodate opposite experiences in life, success and failure, joy and sorrow, excitement and boredom. She has become more patient and at ease with who she is and how things are.
Janine received her teacher training in 2015, subsequent to quitting her banking career and has since committed to empower people to lead healthy, balanced lifestyles through Yoga. The Yoga practice itself is holistic in the sense that it not only heals the physical body but enhances the mind, allowing us to breakthrough from the rigid ideas we may have about our capabilities and capacities. As a teacher, Janine strives to encourage her students to look beyond the external expression of ourselves as shapes.
